Have you been asked, "Who do you follow?" Before social media that question had a different connotation. There were leaders and followers. Most entrepreneurs would place themselves as leaders rather than followers. And I've met my fair share of leaders who would be insulted if anyone assumed they needed to follow anyone else. But we all follow in the footsteps of those that have this journey before us. Rarely are we the first to try something. Following is about listening and learning from others' experiences. When we are lucky enough to find a mentor or someone that inspires us it can help advance our growth at a much faster pace.
I have a long list of leaders both inside and outside of the real estate industry that I follow in podcasts or on social media. Their moments of inspiration nourish my ability to give back and lead more effectively.
Be intentional about which voices you allow into your mental space. Ensure that you surround yourself with voices that lift you up and move you forward. Now is a great time to ask yourself, "Who do I follow?" And if you aren't smiling and feeling grateful when you start listing those names you may want to look for some new circles of inspiration and motivation.
